Fibonacci

A series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. Fibonacci retracements are used to identify potential levels of support and resistance.

Fill

A ‘fill’ signifies the successful execution of an order after matching with a corresponding party – it is the fulfilment of an asset to be purchased or sold.

Fill or kill (FOK)

An order type that requires a trade to be executed immediately and completely, or else cancelled.

Financial market

Any marketplace where asset or security trading takes place, including forex, shares, cryptocurrencies, indices, commodities and others.

Financial risk

The risk of loss due to changes in market conditions, interest rates, credit ratings or other financial factors.

Fiscal year

A 12-month period that a company or organisation uses for financial and accounting purposes, which may or may not coincide with the calendar year.
